AR. ANIL M PAI

I trained as an architect and a designer. When it comes to design, I have always believed that simplicity is the best form of sophistication and is often hard to achieve. I see and create spaces that are thoughtful and distinctively simple to inhabit !

 

My current research areas include environment management and sustaianalbe development. I have worked extensively in the field of Climate Change vulnerability with various approaches to vulnerability assessment and adaptation practices.  I specialize in social , economic and ecological vulnerability of water resources and  management w.r.t climate change. I have also worked extensively in the field of climate governance in capacity building, empowerment and communication for effective climate change adaptation of  water resources at the state level

I have obtained the masters in sustainable development and climate change offered by the prestigious CEPT University at Ahmedabad. It’s a highly interdisciplinary and a unique course offered on climate change. It explores complex dynamic links between environment management, resources use, economics, human development, climate change and sustainability. Studio based approaches enabled holistic comprehension of the research challenges facing field of sustainable development. Path breaking studios, exploration through field visits, data management, urban-rural studies, labs, talks and discussions with experts packed with high energy helped me shape a unique understanding of climate change!

 

 

IIHS - Indian Institute for Human settlements

At IIHS my work Involved Stakeholder identification and urban carbon emissions inventory  under the Climate development and Knowledge network – Future Proofing Cities project (CDKN-FPC). I worked on issues related to cities and carbon emissions, Urban Governance, Water Resources and Water Management from the Climate Change perspective.
